Conference Talks
USER INSPIRED ROADMAP? IMAGINE THAT.
Booster Conference - Bergen, Norway
Your product roadmap can basically set your life course as a designer/researcher so why is it so often that User feedback can get lost in the discussion over “Feasibility” of implementation. Without a clear Roadmap Research and Design can often not have the lead time needed for activities. Leading to a state of forever catching up and being reactionary. I am here to talk about my successes and failures trying to bring the user back into the roadmap discussion. I will touch on different prioritization techniques and other research activities that helped me in the fight to bring research into the discussion.Without Research influencing product strategy the product might only have internal stakeholder influence and we all know how that goes.
Design + DevOps – What we’ve learned from our developer friends
ConveyUX - Seattle, Washington
UXPA 2018 - Puerto Rico
The goal of DevOps is to change and improve the relationship of development and operations by advocating better communication and collaboration between these two business units—and to move faster (dare I say Agile). As we learned more about the DevOps way of working, our design team began to see and implement similar processes to improve communication and collaboration between different design disciplines, and to break down barriers with our development and offering management teams. In this conversation, using our product as a case study, we will share how these practices have enabled us to overcome short- and long-term obstacles and helped prioritize common efforts in order to deliver meaningful experiences to our customers, and help our team become the well oiled machine it is today.
